Reasonable backpack for the money. The style is cute and a good size for travel with a computer. I would have liked more internal pockets, but it is sufficient. The front pocket closure seems less than secure, so important items must go inside. The color is not as dark and rich as it looks online but not unattractive. I'm not sure how long it will last. The fastners are faux leather and are likely to wear out before the bag does. Overall, pleased with the value. My middle school daughter and I love absolutely everything about this backpack! The color is exactly what she wanted. We were a bit concerned that it was going to be to big but were wrong! Its definitely roomy but not HUGE, like we thought when we first opened the packaging. It has the seperate padded area for her laptop, the main area for all her books, folders and notebooks. lots of extra pockets to store miscellaneous things. Has a side pocket for a water bottle and umbrella. It's made of a heavier canvas material. I'm not sure how water resistant it is so my husband sprayed it with a canvas water repellent. It hasn't been exposed to anything wet yet, so I'm not sure how well it will repel. The fake buckles definitely add to the eye appeal and click into place without much effort, thanks to the hidden magnets! I would definitely recommend this product for middle school aged kids all the way to college and any other type of need for extra space in a backpack. Thanks for a great value in a high quality bag!!Was so excited when I stumbled upon this backpack after searching for days the perfect travel bag. I needed something very functional for a work trip that would fit my large 17 inch laptop along with other items for travel, but I wanted something that said "fashion" instead of "business".I was even more excited when I got this in the mail. The bag is exactly what it looks like in pictures and is the perfect size to fit a laptop, notebook, and plenty more (I put a pair of ankle boots, a make up bag, a jewelry bag, and a toiletry bag altogether in there on my trip). The front pocket was such a convenience, as I had easy access to my cellphone, passport and charger at all times.I haven't used the side pockets yet, but they're a great bonus feature to have for bottles or just extra compartments. The material is a nice canvas, the straps are padded just enough for comfort, and they are not too bulky. The leather (like) accents and metal clips are great quality and really give a nice finishing touch. The bottom of the bag has the leather (like) covering, adding a layer of protection for wear and tear. This is definitely one of the best purchases I've made in a while, and I would buy this bag again in a heartbeat (and probably will once I've worn this one out).Love this bag, fairly durable for the constant beating it has taken from a college student. I feel that my 17 inch laptop is safe in this bag and I haven't had any trouble with ripping in the straps of the bag which is usually a major issue with any backpack I've ever owned. I have recieved several compliments on this particular bag. As keeping it clean, it has done a lot better than I expected as a canvas bag but you can see some slight wear/fading. The pleather/leather bottom has some spots where the material has worn away some but no one sees the bottom anyways and it maintains its sturdy base despite the wear. One thing I will mention, the seems in the leather piece that you slide up the strings to keep it taught came undone and fell off but it was easily fixed by just tying the strings now. Also I noticed some slight ripping around the eyelets where the strings go through but I used this bag for everything from books to clothes to packing to go home on breaks and I have definitely overstuffed it on multiple occasions. It is nice to have a cute durable bag that can handle travel, overstuffing, heavy college books, safely transport a laptop and notes and countless other uses. I think I will buy again in a different pattern when my bag kicks the bucket, which by any means won't be soon.(:Well, the book bag is very stylish. When I bought it, I liked the sturdy feel of it. It is cloth, but felt like a durable cloth, and it really does look nice. It easily fits my laptop in the compartment and the padded compartment keeps it safe from my notebooks. It's got big, deep pockets, perfect for storing power cords, pencils, calculator, and highlighters. One draw back, I've had it for....maybe two weeks, and it has already ripped. If you're wondering what I'm carrying in it, 2 spiral bound notebooks with notebook paper, one 1.5in binder with paper in it, one book and a laptop. No sharp edges of scissors or rulers, just standard school supplies. I put it on the scale: weighs about 15lbs. This is a pretty standard, and I'd say, even a light load for what most college and high school kids have to carry around between books and notebooks. Last year, my old book bag (a hideously ugly and battle scarred bag that has survived 8 years of use) held about 20lbs each semester. I'm disappointed that this bag is having difficulty holding up under a standard load that a typical student has to carry.I like the look of the bag, so I'm just going to try and sew up the area as best I can (fortunately, it's not in a highly visible area), but if you're looking to use this bag regularly, I wouldn't put much in it at one time.Secondly, when I went to order this as a Prime user to get two day shipping (the description said "Prime eligible," it would have taken 3-4 days to get it to me, not counting weekend days. When I wrote to Amazon about this, they refunded the one day shipping I paid to get it when I needed it, and I got the book bag on time. So kudos to Amazon on that.***Update: 9/11/2015The bag has torn in other place. No additional weight added. I'm not taking this bag into the wilderness - just to school. Very disappointed now. I doubt the bag will last the entire year.
